Maud Mathers was an outstanding pupil of both Sickert and Harold Gilman. Both Gilman and Sickert believed in her huge potential and she exhibited alongside them at the AAA Exhibitions during World War I. Her untimely death at the age of 30 has meant that her work is extremely rare as her output was relatively small.
