Note: Edward Eade was part of the remarkable generation of British artists who reached the public gaze during the 1930's. Trained at the Slade School of Art and later at the Royal Academy Schools, Eade was a painter whose sensitive use of colour was grounded in his superb skill at drawing. After the Second World War he turned to sculpture, studying for a time with Henry Moore. Edward Eade's work remains completely unknown because it was never exhibited during his lifetime.
