Note: Geddes studied under George Elmslie Owen at the Westminster School of Art in the 1930s - Owen himself had studied under Léger in Paris. During the 1940s Geddes developed an interest in cubism and produced a number of figurative works in a cubist style before turning exclusively to abstraction in the 1950s.
