Provenance
Estate of Peter Collins.
Note: Folkard trained at Goldsmiths and The Royal Academy Schools. During the 1940's he taught sculpture with Frank Dobson at The Royal College of Art. He was influenced by Maillol and the neo-classical revival of the 1920's. In the 1940s he developed a technique for casting sculpture in concrete following on from Henry Moore's earlier experiments.
