Note: Principally known as a landscape painter, Lyons Wilson was influenced by the modern movement and Surrealism in particular immediately after WW2 and had two 'modernist' shows at the Redfern Gallery, London. Thereafter he reverted to more traditional landscape painting.
The present painting shows the influence of both Miro and Picasso.
