Note: Ethelbert White produced a number of these hand coloured prints of the the Ballets Russes for Cyril Beaumont. In this scene from Fokine's ballet Thamar, The Prince dances before Thamar, Queen of Georgia, to prove he is worthy to be her suitor. The ballet was produced by Diaghilev's Ballet Russes in 1912 with music by Balakirev and designs by Leon Bakst. White illustrated a booklet on Thamar for Beaumont's Impressions of the Russian Ballet in 1919.
