Note: Painter and printmaker, born in Pau, France, she studied at the Slade School of Fine Art, the Westminster Technical Institute under Walter Sickert and the Central School of Arts and Crafts. Boreel became closely associated with the Sickert circle and it was because of her brilliant studies in gouache that he became interested in the medium. She was an especially accomplished printmaker and her subjects, such as the actress Gwen Frangcon-Davies, the Café Royal and London street scenes, owe much to his influence. She exhibited RE, NS, NEAC, Redfern and Walker’s Galleries and had a number of one-man shows in London and abroad. Victoria & Albert Museum holds her work. Finally lived in Mougins, France.
